Poetry Drawer: A Blooming Droop by Faye Joy

jellyf

She took her camera into school to photograph jellyfish.

‘If they hang too long’ she said ‘they sag.’

So, no pulsating locomotion there then, no drifting along

on ocean currents, this bloom of jellyfish droop from wire

in papier maché clusters, tentacles trail in paper fronds,

awaiting the currents of Powerpoint to animate them.
